Our New Arrival and Dismissal Procedure

In response to COVID-19 and social distancing protocols, we are having to modify our arrival and dismissal procedures for this school year.  Please be patient as we implement these.

Arrival:

  • Students cannot be dropped off prior to 7:30 a.m. There are no staff members on duty prior to 7:30. If you must drop your student off before 7:30, please sign up for Quest. Information for Quest is available in the front office.
  • There will be two drop-off points for students:
    • 3rd Grade South Entrance (Yellow) – Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 3rd Grade
    • Breezeway Entrance, near the gym (blue) – 2nd Grade, 4th Grade, All students getting breakfast
  •  All students from a vehicle will enter the school at the same time at the entrance of the youngest car-rider.
    • Example #1: a car with a first grader and fourth grader: both students will enter the school with the first-grader (south entrance). Once inside, they will go to their correct classroom.
    • Example #2: a car with a second grader and third-grader: both students will enter the school with the second-grader (breezeway entrance). Once inside, they will go to their correct classroom.

  • Students will exit vehicles from the passenger-side ONLY. Please teach your child to open the car door from the inside, as school staff will not be able to open car doors.
  • All walkers will enter the building through the main entrance then go to get breakfast or to their classrooms
  • Circle driveway is closed to all traffic except school employees, buses, and daycare
  • Signs will be posted to help direct you to the correct arrival location.

Dismissal:

Kenneth Davis will be using a dismissal program called iDismiss to manage student dismissal while maintaining social distance. The iDismiss application allows our staff to manage the dismissal process through a simple and efficient system managed on cell phones and tablets. The system provides a daily time stamp and documentation to ensure the accountability of each student. Parent vehicles are organized using an assigned number which corresponds to the student line, creating a smooth flow of car traffic. Students who are picked up are accounted for as they leave the facility. A gatekeeper confirms that the correct students exit the building and line up to meet their respective parents and cars.
Watch this short video to see how it works https://idismiss.org/how-it-works/

Parents do not need to download the app.

TWO iDismiss car tags will be available for pickup per family free of charge prior to the September 8 start date. Any additional or lost car tags can be replaced in the front office for $1.  If you forget your car tag, you will have to drive around to the front office and provide a valid driver's license ID. The person providing the ID must be on the student’s Skyward contact list. There will be no exceptions to this procedure. We will provide one car tag by the 2nd day of school and will provide the second at a later time.
