Books for Children's Book Week

TJE Celebrates
April 30 - May 4, 2018

Monday - “The Gift of Reading”
Each teacher receives a book from the librarian to keep for her classroom library. Teachers share the book with her class that day. For the classes that receive chapter books, teachers can “book talk” the book and/or read the first chapter.

Tuesday - “Lunch with a Loved One”
Parents, grandparents, or any other caregivers, are encouraged to eat lunch with their student. After lunch, they can visit the BOGO Book Fair in the library together. The class with the most participation will receive something special from the Book Fair.

Wednesday - “Getting Creative in the Classroom”
Students write and illustrate a children’s book, graphic novel, or design their own bookmark.

Thursday - “Reading Campout”
Students may wear camo and bring flashlights to read books around a “campfire”.

Friday - “Book Character Dress-Up Day”
All students, Pre-K - 4th, are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character. These students will receive a small prize from the librarian for participating and will also be recognized at our Unity Assembly.
